Biography

Rob J. Nathan

Rob was born in Harrow, North London on a hot summers day July 4 th . As a child he displayed an extroverted personality and was a very happy child. He grew up with 2 older sisters and a poodle that didn't like him, and although a dilemma for his parents, Rob got the benefit of the doubt and the poodle went to a happy home.

Whilst not being too academic at school Rob had always sang since age 7 and after going to art college he realised his future was on the stage. He joined a drama workshop in his teens and soon shone in various theatre plays. Rob's big break came on the hit video game show “Gamesworld” on SKY TV where he played the role of Videator “Electric Eddie”. He soon realised though that acting was not his destiny and he embarked on the career that would bring us to where we are today.

Rob began his music career on the karaoke circuit, singing and getting used to the live crowd. He knew he had the voice but was disheartened as he felt he couldn't pen lyrics. After a few broken hearts and seeing more of the world as he gigged and worked with producers in LA, the lyrics and melodies finally came through.

Rob met producer Keefe West Jnr in early 2000. Keefe is an accomplished producer/musician from Sydney Australia who has had record deals with Sony and toured with artists such as Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel and Joi. Keefe saw great potential in Rob and their relationship as friends and musicians shaped the way Rob's unique musical style was to be.

Presently Rob and Keefe have recorded over 18 tracks. Rob writes all his own songs transferring his penned lyrics into melodies very quickly. Keefe then blends his many live guitars and beats into the track. This creates the raw style that makes Rob J Nathan stand out as one of the freshest singer/songwriters to emerge in many a year.

Recent gigs include performances at the Clapham Grand, Lark in the Park and “Sound” in Leicester Square twice. More gigs are planned soon. The EP of 6 tracks will be available only here on robjnathan.com. Check in the CD & Gigs area to see when this exciting project will be available.
